Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings sees Australian universities RISE in 2021

A handful of top Australian universities are among the world’s best, according to the widely recognised QS World University Rankings.

The 2022 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings recognised the Australian National University as Australia’s best tertiary education institution, and declared it the 27th-best in the world.Each of the QS World University Rankings were compiled using six metrics - academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%) faculty/student ratio (20%), citations per faculty (20%), international faculty ratio (5%) and international student ratio (5%).

The 2022 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings, allowed universities to use pre-COVID international student data so that the rankings did not reflect the impact of coronavirus on international student representation and staffing ratios.

2. The University of Melbourne (rank 37 in the world)
3. The University of Sydney (rank 38 in the world)
4. The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) (rank 43 in the world)
5. The University of Queensland (rank 47 in the world)
6. Monash University (rank 58 in the world)
7. The University of Western Australia (rank 93 in the world)
8. The University of Adelaide (rank 108 in the world)
9. University of Technology Sydney (rank 133 in the world)
10. University of Wollongong (rank 193 in the world)
